2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Houillères, Olivier Leflaive Frères

Often our favourite wine in the cellar, Franck bottles this single vineyard Chassagne especially for us: it’s otherwise blended into his Chassagne. This is fine and beautiful, with notes of lemon oil and stunning purity. This has tension and intensity: a brilliantly balanced wine.

2017 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Houillères, Olivier Leflaive Frères
Olivier Leflaive

One of Burgundy’s most recognisable names, Olivier Leflaive produces some of the Côte de Beaune’s finest whites from a mixture of domaine-owned vineyards and bought-in grapes. Olivier founded the company in 1984, and it has grown in quality and prestige ever since. With 17 hectares of their own vineyards in some of the region’s most prized plots, and using only the very best sources from their bought grapes and must, the wines being produced are now up there with the region’s very best.
