Clos de la Chatenière is a monopole of the estate, a south facing parcel surrounded by a wall, with vines that were planted in 1964. This is powerful in 2015, with a taut, mineral palate with notes of slate and gun flint, and great drive on the citrus finish. Olivier notes that it’s the soil here which creates the reductive character to the wine, meaning it’s reserved in its youth.
