2012 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches, Domaine Chanson

Clos de Mouches is a large, warm and sunny vineyard at the end of the Beaune appellation nearest to Pommard. Chanson hold 4½ hectares here, half of which is planted with Chardonnay. Intense and concentrated on the nose and palate, with notes of citrus alongside more creamy stone fruit characters. Opulent and expressive, but balanced by a lovely wet stone minerality that carries through the fresh, clean finish.

Maison Chanson

At Domaine Chanson there is a clear balance between the old and new. The domaine's history is demonstrated by its fifteenth century cellars, situated in the historic centre of Beaune. Having been bought by Bollinger in the late 1990s, the estate has since undergone exciting improvements in both winery and vineyard, most notably turning to organic farming. They’re best known for the range of wines they make from the hillside above Beaune.
