In 2012, winemaker Laurent decided not to produce his single vineyard wines from La Garenne and Les Chalumeaux due to the very low yields from hail-affected vines. Instead he gathered what fruit he had and blended in the pressoir directly; it is easier to work with a slightly higher volume of wine, and if the proof is in the pudding, his was the right decision; the wine has impressive concentration and richness of ripe apple fruit. Very ample with a deliciously rich texture, this is excellent.
