The southerly aspect of Criots gives a marginal degree of extra ripeness compared to neighbouring Bâtard-Montrachet. This is evident in the big, broad powerful stature of this Grand Cru, but effortlessly so with a seamless balance and perfect equilibrium. Fontaine-Gagnard is one of only four growers who have enough to make more than one barrel of Criots.
