2010 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Caillerets, Jean-Marc Pillot

Quite tight and closed at the moment, displaying a more serious and mineral-driven nose. There is such fine acidity and minerality here, with hints of citrus, green apple and chalk. This is a very precise and pure style of Chassagne that definitely warrants time in the cellar.

2010 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Caillerets, Jean-Marc Pillot
Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot

While surprising today, Chassagne was a village traditionally known for its red wines. Jean-Marc Pillot continues to create wines which hark back to the commune’s rich red history, and his Clos St-Jean is one of the finest examples we know. He also crafts whites of definition and complexity that sit squarely between a steely style and fuller examples.
