2010 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes, Jean-Marc Boillot

Bright and fragrant, with notes of pear and greengage. Serious and structural, with a taut minerality giving backbone to a core of attractive ripe orchard fruit. There is a perfect balance between weight and acidity here, a balance which carries through onto the long, attractive and slightly smoky flint finish. Powerful Puligny, but power constrained. Excellent.
