2009 Puligny-Montrachet, Jean-Marc Boillot

2009 Puligny-Montrachet, Jean-Marc Boillot

The grandson of the famed Etienne Sauzet, Jean-Marc Boillot owns 11 hectares of vines, spread across the Côte de Beaune, including holdings in Puligny-Montrachet that were previously owned by Domaine Etienne Sauzet. This inheritance and pedigree comes through in his wines, which are of the highest quality. Jean-Marc Boillot only uses around 25-30% of new oak in order to create elegant wines and this Puligny bears testament to his winemaking philosophy. Immediately appealing with a very fresh nose of Cox apples, the palate follows with a lusciously fat and creamy texture, which cleans up to a delightfully refreshing mineral finish.
