Caillerets is considered by many to be the finest 1er Cru in Chassagne. With chalky white soil, it delivers a pure, mineral style which develops richness with bottle age.
The wine is understated on the nose, with reined in, smoky mineral notes. On the palate, there is an immediate sense of freshness due a brightening acidity, which balances a core of intense, concentrated fruit. This is the epitome of balance and harmony, carrying its weight with immense poise. Very impressive.
