A quick glance at a map of Puligny and Chassagne will reveal that Blanchots-Dessus is immediately next to the greatest of all white burgundy sites, Le Montrachet. Why the difference in status? Blanchots-Dessus falls away a few metres from its illustrious neighbour and the aspect is more southerly than its south east-facing big brother. However there is no doubt that this cuvée has class writ large right through to its profound finish. The scents and flavours are alive with floral, citrus, tropical and honeyed notes.
