2024 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, Georges Mugneret-Gibourg

2024 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, Georges Mugneret-Gibourg

Cellar Circle Exclusive

Mugneret-Gibourg has just one parcel within this sizable grand cru, planted in 1954, just next to the château. It is one of the finest examples of the vineyard, with depth, structure, and complexity, red cherry fruit and a full-bodied length.

Tasting notes

The 2024 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is represented by three barrels this year, one new. This has more fruit concentration compared to the Echézeaux with cranberry, wild strawberry and light rose petal scents, just a little more horsepower and presence. Again, there is impressive delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins but this Clos Vougeot has a little more heft than the Echézeaux with greater weight at the back end. This is Mugneret-Gibourg's standout in this infamous year.
