2024 Bourgogne Rouge, Patrice Rion

2024 Bourgogne Rouge, Patrice Rion

New release

In 2024 Maxine blended fruit from his exceptional Bons Batons vineyard with another parcel. The result is a slightly less concentrated wine than a traditional Bons Batons, but one that offers up expressive aromatics and approachable open-knit structure.

Tasting notes

The 2024 Bourgogne Pinot Noir includes the fruit that usually goes into the Bon Baton cuvée and is raised in used barrels. It has something "old school" on the nose with its tertiary red fruit and hints of bergamot. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, very well balanced with clean and crisp red fruit and a dash of black pepper towards the finish. This is clearly elevated by the inclusion of the Bon Baton fruit and as such comes recommended.
