2023 Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Méo-Camuzet

2023 Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Méo-Camuzet

Cellar Circle Exclusive

Strictly limited to 6 bottles per customer

This is a blend of two parcels, one planted in the 1970s and 1980s, the other in the 1950s. It is raised in around 40% new oak, giving the silky fruit texture and luxurious depth. There are black forest fruits with a beautifully defined perfume of violets and incense. A velvety Vosne that is full of charm this year.

Tasting notes

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village comprises 80% from the lieu-dit of Barrauds and 20% Aux Communes. Its fragrant bouquet features vivacious red cherries and raspberry fruit alongside hints of bergamot and blood oranges. The palate is medium-bodied, with succulent ripe tannins and a sweet core of black cherry and boysenberry fruit. This is well balanced if lacking just a little persistence on the finish. It will still give up to a decade's worth of drinking pleasure.

Purchased grapes, from the southern end above the main road. Mid purple. A light torrefaction alongside the raspberry fruit, medium fruit weight through the middle, not too much acidity but structured enough to hold well. Drink from 2030-2035. Tasted Nov 2024.
