Aux Boudots is a magnificent vineyard that borders Aux Malconsorts in Vosne. It produces some of the most luxurious and decadent wines of Nuits, with much of its neighbour’s character intertwined with its structured and muscular frame. Brimming with violets, dark forest fruit and a little spice, this is an impressive wine this year.

The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru has a perfumed nose with iris flowers and a touch of peony infusing its mainly black fruit—although here I am seeking a little more presence, as with the 2022. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, and the 60% new oak becomes just a little vocal toward the finish. Hopefully, the terroir expression will develop more once that has been assimilated. At present, the Aux Murgers is showing Les Boudots how it's done.
A bright deep purple. Some deep purple fruit too, this is one of the richest wines, hitting 14.5%, which slightly impacts the balance on the palate. Good wine in this richer style, but less finesse at least at this stage. Drink from 2032-2038. Tasted Nov 2024.
