The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru, raised in two-thirds new oak, has a delectable bouquet of pure red fruit that exudes the essence of Pinot Noir and Vosne-Romanée. The 2023 is maybe a little more restrained compared to vintages several years ago. The palate is medium-bodied with exquisite balance, poise and filigreed tannins, yet there is real weight on the finish. This is one of the finest Les Suchots that Sébastien Cathiard has produced.
A paler crimson ruby. After the definitive presence of En Orveaux, the Suchots style floats lightly. Aiming for the ethereal. The fruit in the mouth is a bright fresh pure red, alpine strawberry model, and continues through to the back of the palate, without falling away as sometimes Suchots can do. A success.
