Les Beaumonts sits high up the hill, on the limestone slope which is home to Vosne’s finest Premiers Crus. The wine is dark, brooding, with mineral freshness and elegant spice. It has backbone, but also a tenderness. This should evolve with great grace in the cellar.

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaumonts 1er Cru has quite an intense bouquet with black cherry, boysenberry and crushed violet scents that unfurl in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, a slightly grainy texture and fine sapidity with gentle grip toward the finish. This lingers nicely and should age well in bottle. There's great pixelation and mineralité here. This is outstanding.
Another fine, complete purple colour. There is a considerable density of dark raspberry fruit on the nose. Bursting with energy, again the fine integrated acidity, little red fruits at the finish adding to the sense of definition. There is no question about the length. Racy yet refined. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Nov 2024.
