2023 Chambolle-Musigny Les Clos de l'Orme, Sylvain Cathiard

Cellar Circle Exclusive

A well-placed village parcel sits right in the middle of the appellation beneath Premier Cru Les Charmes and produces a complex, lacy, and layered Chambolle, with particularly smooth and silky tannins.

Tasting notes

The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Les Clos de l'Orme has a slightly tertiary bouquet. Blind, I might think there were stems in the blend. There is a subtle marine influence at play. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins, dark berry fruit and brown herbs, but there is just a little hardness on the finish that will hopefully be addressed with bottle age.

A slightly darker crimson, with expressive fruit on the nose. Slightly darker and leafier fruit, broader of perhaps softer behind on the palate. This will be very attractive but to drink earlier than the Vosne-Romanée. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Nov 2024.
