If Les Crais is her father’s cuvée, then this is Amélie’s. It used to go into their village blend, but Amélie has been bottling it separately since 2013. The vines are now over 70 years old, and its mid-slope position near the premiers crus is excellent. A bold 50% whole-bunch here is executed with deft skill: the wine is fragrant and dancing, with agile freshness and sweet energy.

50% whole bunch vinification, just bottled, 20% new wood. Mid crimson purple. Fine perfumed fruit, more class, less immediate density. The whole bunches really add distinction here, especially in the finish. The oak is nowhere to be seen and the tannins are very refined. Beautiful finish. Drink from 2026-2031. Tasted: November 2023. 5 stars.
The 2022 Fixin En Combe Roy contains 50% stems, which loom over the current aromatics: dark berry fruit, cola, cracked black pepper and a faint wild fennel aroma. Very complex. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and gentle grip. More tertiary in style, a little "gawkier" (if you can call an unfinished wine that), that it will certainly cohere during its élevage. It will require 3-4 years in bottle, but this is another very promising Fixin.
