Les Fuées enjoys a wonderful position, just alongside Bonnes Mares, and as a result is one of the most sought-out crus in the village. It’s one of the riper wines in the cellar, but at 13.5% it’s by no means out of balance. Indeed, the fruit maturity only gives it greater depth.

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru, which had just been racked and includes 50% whole bunches, opens wonderfully on the nose: quite minerally, very graceful, wild strawberry, cranberry and blood orange aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid red fruit, fine grip, and a touch of bitter cherry lending to the natural energy of this Les Fuées. Matured entirely in new oak, I must admit that the wood drives the finish a little, but that will be assimilated with time. Great potential.
