This tiny premier cru is set in a dip that was once a quarry (as the name alludes to). The wine is full of black cherries, with a creamy texture and silky length. 80% whole-bunch fruit results in big energy, and a dense, complex finish.

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Carrières 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet that completely subsumes the 100% new oak, whilst the 80% whole bunches imparts discrete white pepper and bay leaf notes that enhance the red fruit. The medium-bodied palate is very tensile and focused with finely chiseled tannins and a vibrant, lightly spiced finish with a touch of curry leaf on the aftertaste. Excellent.
