2022 Gevrey-Chambertin, Armand Rousseau

2022 Gevrey-Chambertin, Armand Rousseau

Cellar Circle Exclusive

Rousseau’s Gevrey might be their least grand cuvée, but it remains nevertheless one of the most sought-after wines, and a window onto their supreme style which can be drunk a little earlier than their Premiers and Grands crus.

Tasting notes

Mid purple more depth, equally striking. This absolutely fills the mouth with the most beautiful cherries and raspberries, and just a very slightly dry finish which the fruit soon climbs over. Drink from 2028-2034. Tasted: November 2023.

92—93/100

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a well-defined bouquet: perfumed red fruit and subtle sous-bois scents percolating through with time. The medium-bodied palate has a slightly powdery entry. It offers more depth and grip than the Clos du Château, with a sprinkling of white pepper on the finish. Enjoy over the next 15 years.
