2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots, Nicole Lamarche

2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots, Nicole Lamarche

Les Suchots is one of Vosne’s most substantial premiers crus, famous for producing particularly long-lived wines. This shows brilliantly crystalline Pinot fruit - pure, red-fruited and ethereal. The intensity is dialled up, and the saline length promises much to come.

Tasting notes

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has an elegant bouquet with admirable purity: red cherries, crushed strawberries and a touch of sous-bois. It's not as concentrated as its peers, but that's not its intention. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins. This is well-balanced with ample weight and quite tensile towards the slightly flinty finish. Very fine.

A clean light purple with paler rim. Light cherry fruit on the nose, then a little burst of fresh red fruit energy on the palate, the acidity blended in, medium bodied with some persistence. In fact, really quite an impressive finale. Drink from 2030-2036. Tasted: November 2023.
