2018 Fixin En Combe Roy, Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet

Amélie calls this parcel her ‘baby’, as she made the decision to bottle it separately in her first year at the estate. The vines are now 70 years old, and in 2018 it is so pure and elegant, with refined tannins and so much finish. Such a beautiful wine.

2018 Fixin En Combe Roy, Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet
Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet

Young winemaker Amélie Berthaut’s first vintage was 2013, having taken over from her father, Denis, and she’s made considerable changes to the domaine since: renovating their cellars, and focusing on creating pure and elegant wines. Indeed, she has a self-declared obsession with tannins! She’s just picked up some new vineyards from her mother’s side of the family: hence the addition of Gerbet to the domaine’s name. Her father’s pleased with the changes; spending his time in the vineyards.
