Historically known as a village for reds, Chassagne can still be home to some of the Côte de Beaune’s Pinot Noir gems. Here the vines are 100+ years old, making in 2017 9 barriques. Impressive nose, herbal and deep, and also so mineral and lively. There’s an intensity to this that’s really stunning. Dark juice, brooding and shy on the palate, but has a lot in reserve, with such good integration of acidity and tannins. Fresh, mineral and impressive.
