2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut St Jacques, Domaine Duroché

One of Gevrey’s premiers crus that’s a grand cru in all but name, Pierre made only roughly half of a typical yield in 2016. There’s so much minerality, and the fruit is so fresh it could be snow-capped. Transparent and crystalline, but with such elegance and depth. Perfect balance.

Due to high demand, this wine is limited to 6 bottles per customer.

2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut St Jacques, Domaine Duroché
Domaine Duroché

Quiet and unassuming winemaker Pierre Duroché is undoubtedly one of Burgundy’s most exciting young producers, thanks to his classically profiled wines that scream terroir, and that offer marvellous potential for aging. His wines have now undoubtedly reached the big time, with prices to match, but we believe that they’re well within their right.
