2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux-St-Jacques, Denis Mortet

This is just the third vintage Arnaud has made from this vineyard, with vines around 50 years of age, and right next to Clos de Bèze. There’s fresh, nervy blue fruit. It’s ripe, juicy and exciting.

Due to high demand, this wine is limited to 6 bottles per customer.

2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux-St-Jacques, Denis Mortet
Domaine Denis Mortet

Under tragic circumstances Arnaud Mortet took control of the family domaine in 2006, and has elevated this already well-respected estate to new levels of quality and refinement. For Arnaud, the maxim “it all begins in the vineyard” is more than just a cliché, it’s a way of life. From this unrivalled meticulousness he is able to make wines that impress with their depth of fruit and concentration without being over-extracted. They are beautifully textured with sensitive use of oak.
