2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses, Albert Bichot

Les Amoureuses is surely Chambolle’s, if not the Côte de Nuits’, best thought of Premier Cru, situated just below Musigny. This is a wonderful example of the vineyard’s charms: gloriously supple with beautiful elegance, there is so much here for the long haul that it shouldn’t be this delicious now.

2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses, Albert Bichot
Albert Bichot (Clos Frantin and Long Depaquit)

Founded in 1791, this domaine’s château remains the most impressive in Chablis. Now owned by Beaune-based house Albert Bichot, and benefitting from the expertise of Technical Director Alain Serveau, this is a Chablis domaine on the rise to the top of the appellation. La Moutonne is the wine that the estate is best known for, a monopole in the heart of the Grands Crus, between Vaudésir and Les Preuses. It’s in a natural amphitheatre where the wines can reach stunning ripeness for the region.
