2013 Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Georges Noëllat

Maxime's village vines are perfectly situated, and at 70 years old they produce wines of, in my eyes, 1er Cru quality. Vibrant with notes of wild blueberry and cherry, there are silky Vosne tannins and plenty of acidity to balance: This may well be better than 2012.

2013 Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Georges Noëllat
Domaine Georges Noëllat

After taking over from his grandmother, young winemaker Maxime Cheurlin now crafts some of this famous village’s most sought-after wines from his small but well-located parcels of vines. He also enjoys one of the world’s most well-located conservatories, right at the foot of Vosne’s Grands Crus. There can hardly be a better experience than savouring a glass following another pleasurable tasting chez Georges Noëllat, perhaps accompanied by the domaine’s two massive dogs, Feusselotte and Lafite.
