2013 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru, Domaine Duroché

The vines in Duroché's section of this celebrated vineyard were planted in 1920, and the wine produced in unsurprisingly rich, concentrated and complex. A supple, silky texture leads into a finish of fruit and alluring, subtle spice. This is outrageously good, with balance, poise and power.

Domaine Duroché

Quiet and unassuming winemaker Pierre Duroché is undoubtedly one of Burgundy’s most exciting young producers, thanks to his classically profiled wines that scream terroir, and that offer marvellous potential for aging. His wines have now undoubtedly reached the big time, with prices to match, but we believe that they’re well within their right.
