2013 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, Domaine de Montille
Etienne de Montille told us that he has really only been happy with his Clos Vougeot since the 2009 vintage, believing that he has made a better wine every year since. It is clear that in 2013 this progression has continued. It has a gorgeously intense palate, loaded with dark cherry, strawberry and spice. There is such a sense of vitality and energy to the wine that even though a big wine with big tannins, it is a dream to taste, even at this embryonic stage. Certainly one of the highlights of 2013.
