2013 Volnay 1er Cru Les Angles, Louis Boillot

Generally acknowledged to be one the best wines to come out of this vineyard, Louis Boillot’s Les Angles is an incredible pretty expression of Pinot Noir. Beautifully aromatic, with notes of raspberry, cranberry and forest floor, the palate shows concentration of crunchy fruit, refreshing acidity and silky tannins.

Domaine Louis Boillot

Louis Boillot previously worked at family domaine Lucien Boillot in Gevrey, though the family was initially based in Volnay, hence they also have wines from this commune. Louis himself relocated to Chambolle in 2003 where his wife, Ghislaine Barthod, is based, and they share the same vineyard team. From several notable appellations, Louis crafts wines that are united in their commitment to terroir. He also has an impressive concern further south in Moulin-à-Vent, making Pinot-like Beaujolais.
