2012 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle, Domaine Rossignol-Trapet

Rossignol-Trapet own one hectare in this cold climate with plenty of clay in the soil. On the nose this is open and expressive with beguiling aromas of acacia and jasmine bringing lift and complexity to the cherry fruit. Endowed with laser-like precision and an excellent, delicately firmtannic structure, this is an excellent example of this terroir, which is renowned for producing slightly more delicate and elegant wines than elsewhere in Gevrey.

Domaine Rossignol-Trapet

After converting the domaine to become biodynamic in 2004, Nicolas and David are champions of minimal intervention, from vineyard to winery. The estate, founded in the marriage of the Rossignols of Volnay and the Trapets of Gevrey, has been run by both brothers since 1990. Their wines are elegant, refined, and pure, reflective of their desirable terroir.
