2012 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Bel-Air, Domaine Taupenot-Merme
An exceptional vineyard sitting just above the great Clos de Bèze, this is a cooler site with poor soil giving leaner wines that fill out with bottle age. Romain has done a great job in 2012 producing a wine with real flair and a mineral streak - classic Gevrey with notes of damson and crushed black pepper.
