Most of La Combe d’Orveaux is a 1er Cru vineyard sandwiched between Echézeaux and le Musigny, however Etienne’s vines are in the sector that is classified as village. While this means that this is technically “just” a Chambolle-Musigny, it is easy to understand why the name of the vineyard is mentioned on the label; Pretty, dark, cherry fruit dominates on the nose but it is lifted by a floral edge of violets. On the palate there is a beautiful silky texture to this wine, combined with a mineral, powerful and long finish. This is a seriously good wine!
