2011 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes, Méo-Camuzet

Immediately very pretty on the nose, with violet-scented hedgerow berry fruit to the fore. The tannins on the palate are quite structural, but beautifully ripe and integrated, giving an immediately silky impression. Layered with chalky minerals and black cherry fruit, this is a serious wine with a lot of potential. It finishes with a burst of acidity, giving a lovely sense of lift and poise.
