2011 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Craipillot, Humbert Frères

The 80 year old vines have yielded a wine of great concentration and ripeness. Forest fruits and mocha are supported by firmly structured tannins gained from a proportion of whole bunch fermentation. Seriously good Gevrey that will undoubtedly get even better over time.

2011 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Craipillot, Humbert Frères
Domaine Humbert Frères

Ten years ago, the Humbert brothers swapped roles with Manou moving into the winery and Frédéric into the vineyard, and they haven’t looked back since. A larger than life, rugby-playing winemaker, Manou draws out clear definition in his wines. There is noticeable clarity between the brothers’ many terroirs in Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin, impressive precision indeed.
