2011 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru, Denis Mortet
This wine is a blend of four different Premier Crus that is then aged in 50% top quality new oak. The very appealing nose features mineral-inflected, ripe dark berry fruit aromas. There is a lovely richness to the round and seductively textured flavours – full and intense with plenty of finesse. The finish is layered and harmonious. This is a fabulous wine that shows ample promise.
