2010 Echézeaux Grand Cru, Domaine Georges Noëllat

This is the oldest parcel in the domaine; the vines being more than 100 years old. It’s in the Cruot part of Echézeaux, where the soil is particularly stony. Its bite and precision make for a great counterbalance to its naturally, intense, concentrated spicy fruit. A serious wine indeed. Drink from 2016

2010 Echézeaux Grand Cru, Domaine Georges Noëllat
Domaine Georges Noëllat

After taking over from his grandmother, young winemaker Maxime Cheurlin now crafts some of this famous village’s most sought-after wines from his small but well-located parcels of vines. He also enjoys one of the world’s most well-located conservatories, right at the foot of Vosne’s Grands Crus. There can hardly be a better experience than savouring a glass following another pleasurable tasting chez Georges Noëllat, perhaps accompanied by the domaine’s two massive dogs, Feusselotte and Lafite.
