2009 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Arlaud

A big, bold blackcurrant nose that took a little coaxing to come out of the glass. Sweet ripe strawberry on the full-throttle palate, coating the mouth with silky, soft, graceful tannins. The finish is lingering, with a wonderful, fresh mouth watering acidity.

2009 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Arlaud
Domaine Arlaud

With the help of horses Nougat and Oka, Domaine Arlaud has been biodynamic since the 2009 vintage. The estate, founded by Joseph in the years after World War II, is now run by siblings Cyprien, Romain and Béatrice, the latter responsible for the equine employees. Whilst the wines have always been impressive, in recent years they have undoubtedly gained in detail and precision, reflecting their cerebral approach to winemaking.
