2007 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Estournelles-St-Jacques, Humbert Frères

Dense, dusky fruits. The palate has a well-defined structure. The fruit has clarity and transparency, and there is a fine thread of minerality, giving a taut, focused wine with density and length. Very fine.

2007 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Estournelles-St-Jacques, Humbert Frères
Domaine Humbert Frères

Ten years ago, the Humbert brothers swapped roles with Manou moving into the winery and Frédéric into the vineyard, and they haven’t looked back since. A larger than life, rugby-playing winemaker, Manou draws out clear definition in his wines. There is noticeable clarity between the brothers’ many terroirs in Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin, impressive precision indeed.
