Drinking beautifully now, this 1986 from Grand-Puy-Lacoste is classic Pauillac, with soft, developed black fruit, graphite and mint flavours. There is still some weight and firmness to the tannins, and the blackcurrant and blackberry flavours are dense and concentrated. There are more savoury tones on the palate with tobacco, woody herbs, earth and truffle.
