2017 Château l'Evangile, Pomerol

The estate lost 50% of the crop to frost, and this is all Merlot. There's noticeable oak at the moment, but the weight is there to wear it once it comes together. It's very nicely textured and balanced - very elegant, in fact.

TASTING NOTES

Very fine and velvety tannins in the mouth with juicy fruit that gives dark-berry, chocolate and spice character. Medium to full body. Bright acidity. Harmonious and very pretty. Pure merlot. Reminds me of the 2012, but shows a little more ripeness and suppleness.
