An impressively exuberant nose of dark fruits and violets gives a hint of the impressiveness of this excellent value wine. The palate backs this up: the fruit is well defined and juicy, the tannins mouth filling but ripe, and well controlled. Even as a barrel sample this is delicious: once put into bottle it will drink almost immediately, but last a decade or more. A wine to buy and enjoy.
