This is one of the more powerfully built wines of the commune, but there is a pleasingly mellifluous nature beneath its obdurate exterior which in time will unfurl to reveal its multi-layered and beautifully fleshy mid-palate. Under the management of John Kolasa since 1994, he recently announced his intention to retire so this will be the last vintage overseen by the man credited by many to have returned this estate to its rightful status as a high-flying second growth.
