2014 Château Cheval Blanc, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A) St-Emilion

Unusually with a barrel sample of Cheval Blanc, it is backward on the nose, revealing bursts of fragrance. On the palate it is expansive and mouth filling, a wine of stature, presented with tremendous purity and precision. It is full bodied and concentrated with a firm underlying structural definition, all of which is presented with the utmost finesse. There is a sense of great expectation here.
