The new tasting room at Pichon-Lalande overlooks the vineyards, facing out towards Château Latour, and gives an idea of this super second's spectacular terroir. Their 2014 is masterful: rather brooding at the moment with enticing savoury notes, the palate remains expressive with a mouthfilling structure, and just a hint of minerality adding complexity. A real tour de force.
