A ripe nose of cassis with graphite notes leads onto quite a soft, rounded, fairly savoury palate. Despite the roundness this still has good tannic bite, a pepperyness and good freshness on the finish. A recent drive at quality with Carruades has led to considerably less being produced in 2014, and it's paying dividends.
