From one of the very best vineyards on the 'plateau' making wines to rival the very best on the right bank, this was undoubtedly one of the best St-Emilion wines we tasted En Primeur this year. Clos Fourtet has a pretty, elegant nose – think ripe raspberries with a lick of cream. On the palate, we were impressed by the concentration and quality of fruit which is underpinned by lovely fine tannins. A must for lovers of classic right bank Claret.
