A candidate for wine of the vintage, 2011 Latour is an opaque, dense colour, very full and with glass-staining concentration. It shows beautiful aromatics, with almost exotic raspberry, violet, cassis and floral notes. The texture of the wine is quite extraordinary, totally enveloping the mouth. Satin-like tannins are totally cloaked by the joyously pure fruit, making it surprisingly easy to taste. Thereis a real freshness and focus to the palate, leading to a precise, detailed and impressively long finish. Simply breathtaking.
