A bigger,more structured and intense La Croix de Gay than usual (this is generally a more elegant, delicately-styled Pomerol), the full-bodied 2010 possesses an opaque ruby/purple colour along with surprising intensity and copious aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and cassis fruit intermixed with vanillin,mocha and earth. The excellent, finely-tuned tannic structure and bright acidity suggest it will require cellaring for at least four to five years to soften and will be drinking over the next two decades.
